TextPipe — SMS forwarding for Android
Effective date: August 5, 2026
Developer: TextPipe
Contact: liongkj.com
Overview
TextPipe forwards incoming SMS messages from your Android device to destinations you configure. TextPipe is coming soon; hosted account, email-routing, and billing services are not active yet.
Direct Telegram Mode
In direct mode, the App stores your Telegram bot token and destination chat ID in Android encrypted storage on your phone. The phone sends message content directly to the Telegram Bot API. TextPipe-operated servers do not receive the SMS content, bot token, or chat ID in this mode.
Data Used on the Device
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| SMS sender and content | Build the message you asked TextPipe to forward |
| SIM information (such as carrier, slot, or label where Android provides it) | Identify the source SIM |
| Telegram bot token and chat ID | Authenticate and deliver in direct mode |
| Local forwarding status | Show whether forwarding is active and help you identify delivery failures |
Data we do not request for this purpose
- Contacts or call logs
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers
Hosted Mode
Hosted mode is present in the preview client but is not active. If it is activated later, this policy will be updated before public availability. The implemented service design uses a Cloudflare Worker and Neon PostgreSQL for account identity and operational state.
That design may process a login email, opaque account and device identifiers, destination addresses, route choices, one-way credential and OTP hashes, delivery status, payload hashes, provider identifiers, immutable destination snapshots, and quota counters. The relational delivery record does not store the SMS body. Message content passes through the Worker only when needed to call the selected Telegram or email provider.
Payments
Hosted billing is not active. If activated, Stripe will process payment details and may provide customer, subscription, billing-status, period, and cancellation identifiers tied to the TextPipe account. TextPipe does not receive full payment-card details.
Third-Party Services
- Telegram Bot API receives messages sent through direct Telegram mode.
- Cloudflare hosts the public website and APK downloads. The inactive hosted design also uses Cloudflare Worker connectivity.
- Neon, email-delivery providers, and Stripe are used only if their corresponding hosted features are activated.
Those providers process data under their own privacy terms.
Android Permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
RECEIVE_SMS | Receive incoming SMS messages for forwarding |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Show the foreground-service notification used for forwarding |

Children's Privacy
